Hybon Elevators and Lamiwood Designer Floors marked their Hyderabad debut with a dual experience centre in Banjara Hills. On a warm February evening, the city’s design community gathered beneath soft light and the hum of conversation to welcome the two Delhi-based brands. The launch began with a traditional candle-lighting ceremony before unfolding into an exchange of music, food, and industry dialogue. Architects, designers and builders moved through the space with curiosity, placing movement and material at the centre of the design discussion.
For Hybon, elevators are not a back-of-house utility but part of a project’s visual and spatial language. Managing Director Ratan Sehgal sees Hyderabad as a natural fit. “We are a luxury elevator brand. As Hyderabad is known for its heritage and the luxury of the nawabs, we wanted to open the experience centre here, so the city and designers can bring that luxury into their elevators through us.”
Walking through the display cabins made that intent tangible. For example, the Amira elevator cabin draws on classical and Arabic references, combining panelled surfaces with warm gold accents and framed artwork. The Cosmopolitan cabin shifts to a grey-beige palette, introducing chevron patterns and fabric glass panels for a more contemporary mood. Even the operating panels are given attention, presented as crafted objects rather than technical inserts. Conversations turned to proportion, finish, and how vertical movement shapes the experience of a building.
Alongside it, Lamiwood’s showroom treats flooring as the element that anchors a room long before furniture arrives. Founder and CEO Vaibhav Vasishta conceived the space as an immersive gallery of European oak patterns, modular compositions, and layered finishes. A hybrid laminated flooring, engineered to remain spill-proof for up to 100 hours, reflects the brand’s balance of performance and refinement. “The idea of premium flooring has evolved to a holistic blend of functionality and aesthetic value,” Vaibhav notes. “It’s not just a change of floors, but a change in living.”
Together, the two showrooms signal confidence in Hyderabad’s growing design culture. In a city where luxury is part of the cultural vocabulary, the details that ground and carry us are shaping the conversation from the ground up. hybonelevators.com lamiwood.in
